The Inaugural Access Class World Championships took place in Whitby, Canada from August 30th to September 5th, 2007.

36 competitors representing 6 nations were at the event, with the majority of competitors coming from Australia. This inaugural event featured several reigning National Champions from around the world competing against each other for the first time at a World Championship in the Access Class boats.

Light and variable breezes got the competition underway in warm and sunny conditions. The favourable weather was not to continue throughout the event, with racing on the final day being abandoned as thunderstorms threatened. All divisions had sailed at least 8 races, with some close results in several divisions.
