Entries OPEN for the Hansa World and International Championships 2025

The Royal Prince Alfred Yacht Club together with the International Hansa Class Association is excited to announce the release of the official Notice of Race for the 2025 Hansa World and International Championships, with entries for both competitors and coaches now open. The event will take place from 23 – 30 March 2025 offering sailors from around the world the opportunity to compete on an international stage in the Hansa class boats.

The 2025 Hansa World and International Championships will bring together sailors, competing in a variety of Hansa classes, including the Hansa 2.3, Hansa 303 (one-person and two-person), SKUD 18 and Liberty class. The event promises thrilling competition while promoting the core values of inclusivity, accessibility, and participation.

“We are thrilled to welcome sailors from across the globe to the 2025 Hansa World and International Championships. The Hansa class epitomises inclusivity, and the 2025 event promises to be a fantastic showcase of talent and sportsmanship,” said Robert McClelland, Commodore of the Royal Prince Alfred Yacht Club.

“The Hansa Class continues to grow around the world and the standard of competitive sailing has increased significantly in recent years,” said International Hansa Class Association Technical Delegate David Staley.

“A number of Para World Sailing Championships will be held in conjunction with the 2025 Hansa Worlds, with results for the para classified sailors extracted from the open fleet competition,” he said.

The Australian Hansa Association advises competitors wishing to charter a boat for the championship should complete the charter boat form available on the event website.

Expressions of Interest Now Open for the 2025 HANSA World Championships

The Royal Prince Alfred Yacht Club (RPAYC) in conjunction with the HANSA International Association is excited to announce the call for expressions of interest to participate in the 2025 HANSA World Championships. This prestigious event will be hosted in Australia, at the RPAYC in Sydney Newport, from the 23rd to the 30th of March, 2025.

Participants from around the globe are invited to come down under and take part in this week-long event, set against the stunning backdrop of Pittwater’s beautiful waters. Whether you are a competitor, coach, support person, or spectator, this is an opportunity to be part of a world-class sailing competition in one of the most scenic sailing venues.

To assist in the organisation of this major event, we have issued an expression of interest form. We encourage you to complete this form with as many details as possible to help us ensure a well-coordinated and successful championship.

2025 Worlds Announced

The International Hansa Class Association is pleased to announce details for the next Hansa Class World and International Championships.

The 2025 Hansa Worlds will be held in Sydney, Australia at Royal Prince Alfred Yacht Club from 24th to 30th March 2025.

Invited classes will be the Hansa 2.3, 303 singles and doubles, Liberty and SKUD 18.

IHCA President Vera Voorbach said: “We are very pleased to announce that Royal Prince Alfred Yacht Club will be holding our 2025 Hansa Class World Championships in Sydney, Australia in March 2025. It is equally pleasing to see that all the Hansa classes will be invited to compete in this event, the 2.3, 303, Liberty and SKUD18. This event will see the first time our World Championships have been held in the Southern Hemisphere since 2012.”

“Our open and inclusive championships – combined with the large number of available Hansa boats in Australia – should see impressive fleets, encompassing all abilities at this event.  Royal Prince Alfred has a proven track record in inclusion at their yacht club, and the IHCA look forward to working closely with the very experienced team from Royal Prince Alfred Yacht Club to deliver a first-class event to our sailors.”

RPAYC is delighted and honoured to have the opportunity to host the next Hansa Class Association World and International Championships in March 2025. RPAYC, with its world-class facilities on the beautiful waters of Pittwater in Northern Sydney, has a long tradition of supporting diversity and inclusiveness in sailing. This includes supporting sailors who have successfully competed in all International Hansa Class Association classes at local, national, world and Olympic events. 

The RPAYC, with its expertise and success in the sport of sailing, looks forward to working with the International Hansa Class Association to ensure a quality, excellent and fun regatta for competitors who will be travelling to our club from within Australia and overseas to compete.
